Ways to Work Together
Each landscape begins with a shared moment of attention — walking the land, reading its cues, and listening for what’s possible. Whether you're looking to shape a new garden, refine what you already have, or simply start a conversation, these are the ways we can work together.
Many clients come to me without a fully formed vision — only a sense that they want something more thoughtful, natural, and enduring than what they see around them. My role is to help clarify that instinct and translate it into a landscape that feels intentional, personal, and deeply rooted in its place.
It all starts with The Site Study
Every landscape has a story, and every design begins with understanding its nuances. The Site Study is an on-site consultation — an opportunity to walk the land together, discuss your goals, priorities, and concerns.
The Site Study is a conversation, not a design plan.
Whether you have specific concerns about existing plantings or are considering a broader transformation, this first step provides clarity and expert insight.
What to expect:
- Site walk-through & discussion of key areas
- Talk through goals, challenges, and opportunities
- Initial observations about what’s working, what isn’t, and where attention may be needed
- Guidance on next steps — from thoughtful refinements to a longer-term design collaboration
It can stand alone as a useful check-in, or lead to a deeper collaboration.
Site Study Fee: $250
This is a paid, on-site consultation.
The Site Study does not include drawings or a design plan.
Design work, if appropriate, is proposed separately following the Site Study.
Landscape & Garden Design
I offer landscape design in Kitsap County & Bainbridge Island for clients seeking thoughtful, site-sensitive gardens. Whether through a full-scale transformation, phased improvements, or a focused redesign of key areas, I approach each project with artistry, ecology, and attention to site nuance—creating landscapes that evolve beautifully over time.
My design work is informed by formal arborist training, allowing trees, soils, and long-term plant health to be considered from the outset.
Design services include:
Master planning & phased design
Ecological planting design & site-sensitive plant selection
Privacy screening, stormwater management, & habitat enhancement
Material selection, spatial planning, and integrated details such as discreet, site-sensitive landscape lighting that respects the surrounding landscape
All design work begins with an initial consultation.
Consulting Arborist Services
As an ISA Certified Arborist with Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ), I provide independent arborist consultations and tree risk assessments for residential clients throughout Kitsap County and Bainbridge Island. My evaluations address tree health, structure, and safety, and follow ANSI and ISA standards.
Because I work as a consulting arborist, not a tree removal contractor, my role is to give clear, unbiased guidance that supports preservation, safety, and long-term planning. Whether you’re concerned about a mature specimen, planning a new build, or seeking peace of mind about your property, I offer thoughtful, professional insight tailored to your site.
Listed by Kitsap County as an approved professional arborist and Shore Friendly contractor, supporting environmentally responsible shoreline and upland landscapes.
Ongoing Site Guidance
Ongoing Site Guidance is a long-term, advisory way of working together — focused on helping landscapes evolve thoughtfully over time. These visits are centered on observation, decision-making, and refinement: assessing what’s working, adjusting what isn’t, and supporting informed choices as the site changes seasonally and over years.
This work is best suited to clients who value continuity, expert perspective, and a measured approach to care, rather than one-time fixes or routine maintenance.
Selective Pruning & Plant Stewardship
I offer selective, targeted pruning carried out only where it meaningfully supports the landscape’s long-term health and design intent. This work is limited in scope and offered as part of an ongoing advisory relationship — not routine maintenance or general upkeep.
